What is the Best Diet to follow?

Paleo? Low Carb? High protein and Fats? Vegan? Intermittent Fasting?

The BEST coaches don’t actually have a Single Nutritional Philosophy.

From the age of 16 I have had a great passion for Nutrition in Sport.

In the last 12 years I have set myself various Goals that have required strict nutritional attention.

*Winner of Miss Wales Beauty with a Purpose (Lean, healthy body shape but with feminine curves)

* Representing my Country as Scrum half and Fullback (Adequate nutrition for high performance)

* White Collar Boxing Fight (Televised, First Female fight in Wales.) (Strict eating regime for performance and recovery)

* Climbing Kilimanjaro – Hardest of the 6 routes – Highest Free Standing Mountain in the World (High Protein diet to maintain lean tissue from lots of endurance training)

* Winner of NABBA Miss Wales 2011 (Lean body shape – Strict high protein, fat diet)

* 2nd Place WBFF Europeans – Diva Bikini (Lean body shape – low carb diet)

* Top 8 finish WBFF Europeans – Diva  Fitness (Leaner Physique -low carb diet into protein fats last four weeks)

As you can see all require different nutritional regimes, TRUST ME it would be much easier if I could follow the same one year in, year out!

The various coaches I have been under have always seemed to have ONE preffered method.

Personally I believe No coach should stick to one single philosophy for every person to follow.

There is no single, absolutely best diet for every person to follow always and forever.

Things a coach must consider are body type, dietary preferences, knowledge, time, budget etc.

I know what’s right for me personally but it does not mean everyone else should follow it.

I have worked at U-fit Cardiff for the last 14 months, there are around 6-8 of us personal trainers working at the facilities.  All of which have different preferred diets.  Some eat more plant based diets, some eat high carb, others eat low carbs, some are following the Renegade diet, others on protein and fat based diets.  Every one of the personal Trainers are serious about health and fitness but they are getting in shape and staying healthy by doing more of the things that they like or work best for their bodies and lifestyle.  What do they all have in common? Every one of those diets are monitored, paid attention to, Each are taking in adequate nutrition, avoiding processed foods and all regularly exercise.

So what is the BEST Diet? The best one to follow is one that is best for YOU and YOUR goal.
